Bahan:
2 lembar roti tawar (cacah kasar)
75 ml susu tawar
1 butir telur
2 sdt gula pasir
2 sdt meises
50 gr keju cheddar (potong dadu)

Cara membuat:
Kocok telur dengan susu;
Campur roti dengan gula pasir, keju cheddar, dan meises, tuang kocokan susu dan telur;
Kukus selama 15-20 menit, dinginkan.

As simple as that, tadaaaa! Siap dinikmati

Disebut “onde-onde ketawa” mungkin karena bentuknya yang merekah, layaknya bibir yang sedang ketawa (tertawa). Di daerah lain, ada pula yang menyebutnya ‘keciput’. Di Solo, onde-onde ketawa bisa mudah ditemukan di daerah Notosuman.

Adonan onde-onde ini terdiri dari tepung terigu, telur bebek, kuning telur, mentega, vanili, dan gula. Semua bahan itu diaduk, lalu dicampurkan dengan air kelapa. Air kelapa ini membuat kegurihan telur makin menonjol. Lalu adonan itu dibentuk bulat, dan wijen pun ditempelkan.

Dr. James Garvin, chief scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center: ‘Supermoon’ is a situation when the moon is slightly closer to Earth in its orbit than on average, and this effect is most noticeable when it occurs at the same time as a full moon. So, the moon may seem bigger although the difference in its distance from Earth is only a few percent at such times.

It is called a supermoon because this is a very noticeable alignment that at first glance would seem to have an effect. The ‘super’ in supermoon is really just the appearance of being closer, but unless we were measuring the Earth-Moon distance by laser rangefinders (as we do to track the LRO [Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter] spacecraft in low lunar orbit and to watch the Earth-Moon distance over years), there is really no difference. The supermoon really attests to the wonderful new wealth of data NASA’s LRO mission has returned for the Moon, making several key science questions about our nearest neighbor all the more important.

During the Chinese New Year, Nian Gao is a must-have food to celebrate with. Nian, meaning ‘year’. And Gao meaning ‘cake’, in Cantonese pronounces the same as the word ‘high’. Symbolize the raising oneself higher in next coming years.

Here in Indonesia, Nian Gao known as ‘Kue Keranjang’, ‘Kue Cina’, or ‘Dodol Cina’.

The ingredients for making Nian Gao are very basic, glutinous flour, brown sugar, and vegetable oil. But these days most people won’t make their own anymore, as there are available everywhere. Nian Gao can be kept for long time without spoil. To serve, simply slice into wedges. For those who prefer a soft texture, steamed for 5 minutes until soft or it can be pan-fried with egg.

Kue nastar dan kastengel sudah disiapkan di atas meja tapi Anda masih mencari finger food alias camilan lain untuk menyambut Lebaran nanti? Anda bisa mencoba membuat crunchy bread sebagai alternatif, crunchy bread ini memang mirip dengan garlic bread. Cara membuatnya mudah dan hanya butuh waktu singkat.

Resep untuk 40 potong.
Bahan: 10 lembar roti tawar tanpa pinggiran, 3 lembar daging asap (cincang kasar), oregano kering
Garlic butter: 50 gram mentega tawar, 2 siung bawang putih (parut halus), 1/2 sdt merica hitam (tumbuk kasar), 1/4 sdt garam. Aduk semuanya sampai merata

Cara membuat:
- Olesi salah satu bagian roti tawar dengan garlic butter hingga merata. Taburi dengan daging asap cincang dan oregano. Lalu potong roti tawar secara menyilang.
- Susun dalam loyang datar, panggang dalam oven dengan api kecil selama 10-15 menit. Angkat dan dinginkan.

Es Mentimun Khas Aceh

Ingin mencoba minuman yang lain dari biasanya untuk berbuka puasa? Coba deh bikin es mentimun khas Aceh, rasanya yang tawar tapi segar mampu membasahi tenggorokan dan pemuas dahaga setelah seharian berpuasa. Selain itu, mentimun juga berkhasiat untuk menurunkan tekanan darah. Bikinnya nggak ribet dan nggak pakai lama, nih bahan dan caranya:

Bahan
Es batu;
2 buah mentimun, serut, boleh sertakan bijinya kalau suka;
Selasih (opsional).

Sirup limau
500 ml air putih;
100 gram gula;
1 buah jeruk limau, peras.

Cara membuat sirup limau: panaskan air, masukkan gula dan air perasan jeruk limau. Tunggu sampai gula larut, lalu dinginkan.

Penyajian: masukkan es batu, selasih, dan serutan mentimun di gelas, tuangkan sirup limau di atasnya.

Gampang kan? Selamat menjalankan ibadah Puasa 1431 H

Sambal Oelek, call for the addition of salt, terasi (fermented shrimp paste), and tomato into the red mixture. ‘Oelek’ is a Dutch spelling which in modern Indonesian spelling has become simply ‘ulek’, both have the same pronunciation. Ulek is Indonesian special stoneware made from basalt stone, this kitchenware still ubiquitous in kitchens, particularly in Java.

Kuil Buddha dalam bahasa Thailand disebut sebagai Wat, terdapat lebih dari 31.200 kuil Budha di Thailand, Wat Arun adalah salah satunya. Berdiri dengan anggun di sisi Thonburi dari Sungai Chao Phraya.

Menara setinggi 79 meter tersebut dihiasi dengan keramik dan fragmen dari porselen berwarna-warni. Keramik-keramik itu konon sebelumnya berfungsi sebagai pemberat kapal-kapal yang datang dari Cina menuju Bangkok. Mozaik porselen mengisi setiap dinding dan sudut Wat Arun sehingga menghasilkan efek visual yang menakjubkan, apalagi pada saat memantulkan sinar matahari.

Wat Arun adalah representasi arsitektur Gunung Meru, pusat dunia dalam kosmologi Buddhis. Dalam mitologi agama Buddha Tibet, Gunung Meru merupakan pusat alam semesta.

Pagi hari, sekitar pukul 7 saya menuju balkon kamar hotel, sekadar ingin menghirup bersihnya udara pagi Kota Singapura. Kaca bagian luar pun berembun, pemandangan kota Singapura yang berkabut menyambut saya. Di sisi kiri ada bangunan yang bentuknya mirip mata capung (atau lalat?) ada juga yang menyebutnya mirip durian. Ternyata itu adalah Esplanade, gedung teater yang menjadi kebanggaan masyarakat Singapura.

Esplanade terdiri dari dua ruangan utama, yakni Theatre dengan 2.000 kursi dan Concert Hall dengan 1.600 kursi. Gedung lain di belakang Esplanade yang tampak dalam foto adalah hotel dan kasino yang saat ini pengerjaannya sudah mencapai 95%.

Saya menemukan menu ini di Sriracha Zoo, Thailand, yang juga merupakan tempat penangkaran buaya.

Meskipun namanya satai, namun daging buaya tersebut hanya digoreng, bukan dipanggang. Bumbunya pun minimalis, hanya garam, merica, dan wijen. Seharga 100 Baht dapat 5 tusuk. Rasanya? Entah, maklum saya hanya memotretnya, tapi tidak memakannya Menurut testimoni dari orang yang pernah nyicip sih dagingnya cenderung alot.

Masmo dari band beraliran jazz, Notturno, sedang memainkan pianika di acara Solo City Jazz pada bulan Desember 2009 yang lalu. Di band ini Masmo biasa memainkan piano, fender rhodes, organ, dan analogue.

Notturno terlahir dari interaksi dan kedekatan anggotanya selama bertahun-tahun di Komunitas Jazz Kemayoran. Selain Masmo, Notturno terdiri dari Trio Joshua Arifin (contra bass) , Hendrawan (drum dan perkusi), dan Karty Rosen (gitar). Pada tahun 2009 band ini telah mengeluarkan album “Volume 1: Akoustika Adventure”.
